Will Chang of College Prep in Oakland captured the Northern California individual golf championship and De La Salle won the team title on Tuesday at Berkeley Country Club in El Cerrito. Chang and De La Salle’s Josh Kim each finished their round at minus-4 68, but Chang won a playoff to claim medalist honors.
As for the boys, it's a four-way tie at the top, with defending champion Rocco Capalbo of Prout among those tied at +3 after round one. La Salle's Brent Rollo, St. Ray's Zachary Taraian, and Moses Brown's Parker Kroll are the other at +3.
Tom Seward, with steady gross rounds of 84-81-84, and a net total of 225, was the champion in the Memorial Division of the Delay, winning by two strokes over runner-up Roland Rust at 227. In third was left-hander Tim Woods at 230, followed by Ted Reynolds (234), Drew Duplessis (236) and defending champion Dave Noyes (237).
