Honda reintroduces its 0 Series electric vehicles at CES 2025, announcing the new ASIMO operating system and plans to begin production in 2026.

The mid-size Honda O SUV, based on the company’s newly developed dedicated BEV architecture, will be the first Honda 0 Series model to go into production. Its styling is based on the company’s “Thin, Light and Wise” design concept which provides a spacious cabin and good visibility.

Honda Motor will be cautious about starting production of new electric vehicles due to uncertainty about President-elect Donald Trump's industrial policy, a senior executive of the Japanese automaker said on Tuesday.

A year on from wowing crowds at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas with two wild and all-electric 0 Series concept cars, Honda has returned to CES with new prototypes that are true to the original designs and preview production models that will go on sale next year.

Honda Motor Co. revealed two electric vehicle prototypes heralding a wave of new battery-powered models it plans to release in the years ahead, though the carmaker may dial back the pace of its EV investments if demand continues to lose steam.

Now, in an American market where interest in EVs is less than expected, Honda is hoping a totally new approach will find traction with consumers. Unlike the “concept” cars we saw last year, the “prototypes” pictured here represent something pretty close to what we’ll see on dealer lots.
