Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet said Monday that Cambodia will not enter talks with Thailand on reopening their shared border unless Thailand reopens all crossing points first, the Khmer Times reported. Manet accused Thailand of unilaterally closing the border gates and said any reopening must be led by Bangkok.

The military said that border crossings in 6 provinces would be closed with immediate effect to all but essential traffic.

More than 5,000 Cambodians are leaving Thailand every day for home as the military standoff in the Emerald Triangle continues to fester with Phnom Penh “permanently closing” two border posts and imposing a ban on all imports of Thai oil and gas.
