Fresh off of its worst year since going public in 1971, Intel is announcing new chips that it hopes will turn its fortunes around.

Intel Corp., which has been fending off mounting competition in notebook processors, says a new range of chips will help enable the longest battery life available in laptops.

"Panther Lake, our lead product on Intel 18A, will launch in the second half of this year. It will take everything you love about Lunar Lake, all the advances in the architecture, to the next level. We have systems already running Panther Lake, and we're sampling it across all of our major customers already."

Intel is revving up its AI chip lineup at CES 2025. Today, the company unveiled the Core Ultra 200H chips for "performance thin and light" notebooks, alongside the Core Ultra 200HX chips for mobile gamers who demand powerful discrete GPUs.
