This edition continues to focus on the 2018 draft when Philadelphia selected Landry Shamet with the No. 26 overall pick. The Sixers were looking to continue growing the roster around their star duo of Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons, at the time, and Shamet made an impact right away.
Meanwhile, Minnesota adds Durant to Anthony Edwards to form a lethal one-two punch, with a chance to retain upcoming free agents Julius Randle and Naz Reid. The Timberwolves would be top-heavy, especially if Nickeil Alexander-Walker departs in free agency as expected, but it would be quite difficult for anyone to get stops against that offense.
The pick will be a valuable asset for the Sixers. It sits in the draft range where this front office has found success in past years.
