Prusik 🪢 The Prusik knot is a friction hitch (self-locking knot). It has the unique feature of being able to slide along the rope it's attached to when not under heavy tension. When loaded, its loops tighten and lock the knot in place. It can be used as an ascender to climb a rope or to temporarily secure the rope to an anchor point.
