On this date, January 17th, 1975, police arrested one of the most disturbing killers connected to Philadelphia. His name was Joseph Kallinger, known as The Shoemaker. Kallinger was a Philadelphia cobbler who, during 1974 and early 1975, carried out a series of violent crimes alongside his 13-year-old son, Michael.
