The Divine Comedy, written by Dante Alighieri in the early 14th century, was reimagined in visual form centuries later by Salvador Dalí, the Spanish Surrealist. Between 1951 and 1960, Dalí created a series of 100 vivid illustrations interpreting Dante’s three realms, Hell, Purgatory, and Paradise and bringing the poet’s journey to life in his own dreamlike style.
