Apartheid architect, Hendrik Verwoerd's hometown will now be named after an Anti-Apartheid activist. Brandfort in the Free State will now be known as Winnie Mandela. Before this - in 1960 - he had been shot twice in the head by a farmer and survived, claiming this marked God's approval of his work.
